Book reports for grownups

The Evanston Public Library invites book-loving Evanstonians to Happy Hour at the Celtic Knot.

The restaurant is located at 626 Church St., across from the Main Library, where the event will be held on Friday, May 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Enjoy books, ideas, laughs, and your fellow book-loving Evanston neighbors. This event highlights participants' favorite books in an informal social setting.

Attendees of "Book Reports for Grown-ups" are asked to come prepared to give a short, two to three minute presentation on any book of their choosing.

Event-goers will vote for their favorite book report and other categories including "Book That Sounds Great But I'm Least Likely to Ever Actually Read," "Book Report Most Reminiscent of Middle School," and other ideas the library staff thinks up by the time of the event.

Advanced Reader copies of soon-to-be published books will be awarded to winners. Come socialize, drink, and share your love of books.
