EPL Author Reading: Elizabeth Blackwell

Thursday, May 22, 7 pm, Community Meeting Room, Main Library

Come meet author Elizabeth Blackwell as she reads from her gripping new novel While Beauty Slept. Mixing fantasy with romance and gothic historical fiction, her original reimagining of "Sleeping Beauty" follows in the footsteps of Gregory Maguire's Wicked and, according to NY Times bestselling author Meg Cabot, "breathes new life into the fairy-tale genre with a historical twist that will take your breath away." Following her reading, Blackwell will take questions and also discuss the challenges of traditional publishing vs. self-publishing.

Elizabeth Blackwell is a graduate of Northwestern University as well as Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. In addition to While Beauty Slept, she is the author of the romance novels The Letter and The House of Secrets. She lives in Skokie with her family.
