Evanston pioneer Frances Willard’s 178th birthday is coming up, and you are invited to join the celebration next Sunday at her Chicago Avenue home.

U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky will deliver the keynote address at the event, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sept. 24, on the front lawn at the Frances Willard House, 1730 Chicago Ave.

Schakowsky is expected to share her journey to leadership and her insights on activism in general.

Even though the event is free, sponsors First Bank & Trust and Berkshire Hathaway Home Koenig Rubloff Realty Group ask  that you RSVP if you’re coming so they’ll have enough birthday cake for all to share.
