The public is invited to safeguard their important papers, bank statements, bills and receipts from theft by bringing them to the Fraud Prevention Fair for secure document destruction. The Fair will be held  from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3 at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave., Evanston.

In addition to document destruction assistance, adults age 55 and better are invited to the Fair's educational program, "Money Smarts: Be a Know It All." It will include information about the latest scams and how seniors can protect themselves against fraud. Participants also will be able to receive help reading their Medicare Summary Notice, play Fraud Bingo, and learn about the senior lunch program and the activities provided by the Levy Senior Center.

To RSVP for lunch, seniors should call the Levy Center at 847-448-8250. A suggested donation of $4.50 for lunch is appreciated.

The Fraud Prevention Fair is being sponsored by the City of Evanston's Levy Senior Center, Illinois Financial Abuse Specialist Team (iFAST), and Illinois Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Program.
