‘Melancholy Play: a chamber musical’ at Piven Workshop

Extended through June 21st

In this lighthearted and quirky musical, bank teller Tilly’s melancholy is of an exquisite, sexy quality. Every stranger she meets falls in love with her. One day, inexplicably, Tilly becomes happy, and wreaks havoc on the lives of her paramours.

Tony-nominated playwright Sarah Ruhl teams up with composer Todd Almond, whose music the New York Times calls “terrifically nimble,” to develop her piece "Melancholy Play" as a new chamber musical.

Talkbacks with playwright Sarah Ruhl on Thursday, June 18th and Sunday June 21st.
