National Public Health Week program

As part of Evanston’s observance of National Public Health Week, there will be a presentation on childhood lead poisoning at the Morton Civic Center.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own brown bag lunch to the noontime session, presented by the city’s senior environmental health inspector, beginning at noon on Thursday, April 6, in Room 2402 of the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. 

The presentation will cover topics including:

Who is at risk for lead poisoning?
How are children exposed to lead?
What are the symptoms of lead poisoning?
How do you avoid exposure?
What does the Evanston Health and Human Services Department do about lead poisoning?
