The North Shore Chamber Orchestra will perform a concert at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Unitarian Church of Evanston, 1330 Ridge Ave. The orchestra will be Conducted by Anatol Lysenko.
The Program will include Capriccio Italian by P. Tchaikovsky, Variations on a Rococo Theme by P. Tchaikovsky, Khovantchina, Introduction and Persian Dances, by M. Mussorgsky, and the Cello Concerto, by E. Elgar.
Haddon Kay will perform the Elgar Cello Concerto.
Haddon is a sophomore at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire. He has studied cello for 11 years and his teachers are Russell Rolen and Hans Jensen.
He has won recognition both as a soloist and as cellist with the Prometheus Trio and Piano Trio Royale.
Earlier this year Haddon was a featured soloist in the Young Steinway Concert Series. He was a 2014 winner in the De Paul Concerto Festival and received Honorable Mention in the 2014 Crain Maling Foundation Chicago Symphony Youth Auditions, 2014 Walgreens Concerto Competition, and 2012 UIC Concerto Competition.
Haddon also placed first in 2012 Society of American Musicians competition and was honored in the Festival to Honor Confucius Competition in 2010 and 2013. As cellist for Piano Trio Royale, the group won first place at the 2015 Rembrandt High School Chamber Competition and was a semi-finalist in the 2014 and 2015 Fischoff National Chamber Competition Junior Division.
