Piven Theatre Workshop's Young People's Company production, "The Quality of Mercy," runs from December 16th through the end of the week.
This advanced youth production is part of Piven's season that focuses on themes of social justic and mercy, and where the intersection of the two ideas can be found.
The Young People's Company works in ensemble over the course of several months to create original adaptations for the production.
“Each story this year focuses on themes we are developing in line with our upcoming April production of Dead Man Walking by Tim Robbins,” said Mikalina Rabinsky, director of both the Young People's Company and Piven's upcoming "Dead Man Walking."
Rabinsky continued, “We are creating a community-wide conversation on compassion and social justice starting with our youth artists, extending to our professional production, which will include Piven youth students, and ending with our partnership with five local arts and advocacy organizations to extend public programs to a multi-generational audience.”
"The Quality of Mercy" will perform for one week at the Piven Theatre Workshop, located in the Noyes Cultural Arts Center in Evanston.
