Police-Fire grill off

The Evanston Police and Fire Foundation hosts The Great Evanston Police vs. Fire Grill Off on Saturday, July 16, in the Evanston Plaza parking lot at Dempster Street and Dodge Avenue.

Cooking starts at 11 a.m. with burgers served from noon and 2 p.m.

For a minimum donation of $5:00, you will get to savor the “Uniform Bleu Burger” ane the “Where There’s Fire(fighters), There’s Smoke Burger.”

Burger recipes will be available so you can emulate the cooking skills of Evanston’s first responders in your own home.

All of the ingredients and more are being donated by Valli Produce.

EPFF is a non-profit, volunteer organization that has provided funding for a wide range of items like a bullet resistant vest for Rony, Evanston PD’s K9, to a state of the art Incident Board for the Evanston Fire Department.

EPFF also helps fund the Evanston Citizens Police Academy and the Evanston Citizens Fire Academy. Both academies are open to all residents and by using hands oninstruction, give an insight into the daily lives of our police officers and firefighter-paramedics.
