‘Preventing Falls’ at Levy Center

A common worry among the elderly is the fear of falling, but falls are not part of the normal aging process. Many seniors are injured, hospitalized, and even die due to falls. Injuries often occur in the home, but almost all falls are preventable if the necessary safety measures are in place.

Preventing falls is the subject of a program at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave., at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, presented by Dr. Ola Bamgbose, MD/MPH Clinical Assistant Professor, UIC School of Public Health.

The presentation will include a 15-minute video clip and 35-minute lecture. A Q&A session follows. This is a free program, but pre-registration is requested. Please call (847) 448-8250. "Preventing Falls" is sponsored by the Sunshine Homecare Agency.
