Luis Alberto Urrea shares a story of transformation from his beginnings on the dirt streets of Tijuana to Pulitzer Prize finalist and beloved storyteller at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, in the Evanston Township High School auditorium.

The author of fourteen books including "Into the Beautiful North," "The Devil’s Highway" and "The Hummingbird’s Daughter," Urrea concentrates on the border region of the southwestern United States.

He explores the border as a place where meaningful conversations, and even love, between cultures begins.

After the event, Urrea will sign books which will be for sale.
