The Second Saturday Coffeehouse once again features the Belle Plaine folk-Americana quartet on August 11th, with Sharon Appelquist, Lisa Crowe, Dennis Harpole, and Anthony McKinney, playing on guitar, fiddle, mandolin, ukelele, and harmonica.
Belle Plaine is a fresh collection of seasoned musicians from diverse musical backgrounds. Their song bag holds both familiar and rare gems that span from traditional to folk to modern pop. With Sharon Appelquist on guitar, Dennis Harpole on fiddle and mandolin, Lisa Crowe on bass, Anthony McKinney on guitar, harmonica and ukulele, and all four singing, the effect is soulful and uplifting.
Lisa has been making music for over 30 years with many roots and alternative combos, along with solo work on her own compositions. Dennis has been playing in various bluegrass, folk and country rock bands since the mid-1980's. Sharon began singing and playing in the past few years and has found much support and inspiration in the Chicago folk community. Anthony's main instrument is his voice, but recently has found much success with his harmonica and strings, as well.
Hosted by Vicki Elberfeld.
