Self-publishing workshop

The Evanston History Center is launching a new “Pop Up” series of informal and occasional talks and workshops. First up is “Introduction to Self Publishing and Print on Demand” led by EHC Director of Education, Jenny Thompson, on Friday, June 9, from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Are you interested in learning how to publish your own book(s)? Do you have a book project and don’t know how to get started? This introductory workshop is designed to introduce you to the basics of “Print on Demand” (POD) publishing, a fast growing way for anyone to publish books—from memoirs to cookbooks to family histories to novels. We’ll cover the basics of POD, the steps of the self-publishing process, and some of the nitty-gritty, such as ISBNs, barcodes, and PDFs. No experience is necessary, just bring your interest in learning the basics of self publishing.

The workshop is free, but space in limited. Reserve your spot by emailing Jenny Thompson: jthompson@evanstonhistorycenter.org
