Shakespeare returns to Evanston's Ingraham Park this summer when Muse of Fire Theatre Company begins its sixth season with a one-hour production of Shakespeare's famous comedy, "The Two Gentlemen of Verona."
The high energy, laugh-out-loud production will be action-packed comedy that both kids and parents can really get into. It will offer an excellent introduction to Shakespeare for young audiences, while more experienced theatre-goers will find plenty of Shakespeare’s wisdom and poetry to enjoy along the way.
Evanston Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl will speak at the opening performance on Saturday, July 5, at 3 p.m. The production will run weekend afternoons at 3 p.m. through July 20. Admission is free; theatre-goers are asked to please bring their own seating.
The Two Gentlemen of Verona will be performed by professional actors directed by Andrew Biliter – artistic director of Evanston's Mudlark Theater Company – who will be working with Muse of Fire for the first time.
Ingraham Park is located behind the Civic Center at 2100 Ridge Ave.
Muse of Fire productions are co-sponsored by the City of Evanston. More information is available at the Muse of Fire website.
