Westminster Place hosts holiday craft and bake sale


Westminster Place, a Presbyterian Homes continuing care retirement community, hosts its annual holiday sale on Friday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Elliott Hall, 3131 Golf Road in Evanston. 

Residents in independent living, assisted living and long-term care have made handcrafted items for the sale including hand dyed silk scarves, angels, snowmen, flower arrangements, distinctive beaded jewelry, Christmas ornaments, knitted items and homemade soup mixes.

Mini two-foot Christmas trees, handcrafted handbags, vests, and pet toys will also be available. Also scheduled are a bake sale and a raffle for a handcrafted doll house with rooms of tiny furniture and some extra warm, full-size double fleece blankets. 

Additional shopping opportunities at the holiday sale include the on-campus shops run by the Presbyterian Homes’ Woman’s Board.  The Depot and Furniture Warehouse feature collectibles, housewares and furniture. The Thrift Shop sells men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, and the Book Nook is filled with used books in many categories. 

Lunch will be served for $7.00 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Geneva Place Dining Room. Tours of the campus will also be available.  Proceeds from the sale benefit intergenerational programming at Westminster Place and worthwhile community causes chosen by the residents.  For more information please call 847-492-4872.
