The Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse hosts its second annual Wrecking Ball fundraiser on April 18 at the Dempster Dodge Plaza.
The event will have local food and spirits and a silent auction, including little free libraries known as "share-a-book" nooks.
Proceeds of the Wrecking Ball fundraiser will jump start the Evanston Rebuilding Workforce, a job training initiative. The ongoing seven-month intensive program trains individuals in deconstruction and construction, preparing the whole person for success and long-term employment.
The Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that in less than four years has diverted thousands of tons of reusable building material from landfills into homes and buildings, made affordable renovation accessible to countless families, provided educational workshops and seminars to professionals and homeowners and successfully employed 80 percent of our workforce trainees who face multiple barriers to employment.
