YWCA wins $10,000 grant for domestic violence work

YWCA Evanston/North Shore has been awarded a grant of $10,000 by the Chicago Foundation for Women’s North Shore Giving Circle for its domestic violence services.

The grant will expand the YWCA’s community-based services, which serve over 500 survivors of domestic violence each year with counseling and support, case management, legal information, orders of protection, and financial literacy training.

The Chicago Foundation for Women raises money to fund and support organizations that help women and girls throughout the Chicagoland area, including grants, advocacy, leadership development, and public and grantee education.

This year it awarded a total of $562,950 to 59 Chicagoland programs that serve women and girls in diverse communities.
