A burglar broke the rear windshield of a 2017 Nissan in a Main Street parking lot and stole a wallet and its contents that were inside. This among stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

BURGLARY

2400 Main

A burglar forced entry to a 2017 Nissan in a parking lot in the 2400 block of Main Street between 5 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. yesterday and stole a wallet inside.

BATTERY

1566 Oak

Thomas E. Whitehead, 52, of 1566 Oak Ave., was arrested at that address at 1:02 a.m. today and charged with battery involving physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

500 Forest

Someone damaged fencing at a parking lot in the 500 block of Forest Avenue between noon Sunday and noon yesterday.

GRAFFITI

500 Asbury

Graffiti was discovered on a utility box in the 500 block of Asbury Avenue at 11:07 a.m. yesterday.

THEFT

Keeney at Forest

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2003 Ford near Keeney Street and Forest Avenue between noon Saturday and 9 a.m. yesterday.

1100 Darrow

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2000 Acura in the 1100 block of Darrow Avenue between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 1:30 p.m. yesterday.

800 Hamlin

An unsecured Fuji Mountain bicycle was stolen from a yard in the 800 block of Hamlin Street between Aug. 29 and 4:45 p.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
