The Cook County state’s attorney reportedly has decided not to file criminal charges against an Evanston firefighter over a woman’s claim that he coerced her into performing a sex act during a late night visit to the city’s Fire Station 1.
The Evanston Review reports that police completed their investigation of the Oct. 26 incident last month and had been awaiting the state’s attorney’s decision about whether to prosecute.
The incident reportedly occurred while other firefighters were asleep at the station.
The firefighter-paramedic, who reportedly met the woman through an online dating service, has been on administrative leave since the incident.
Fire Chief Greg Klaiber said the department will conduct an internal disciplinary investigation of the incident.
