Don’t be caught with an “April Fools” parking ticket Monday, when Evanston’s spring street-cleaning regulations go into effect.

The city has three street-cleaning schedules:

One-sided street sweeping, where streets are swept on Mondays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m;

Bi-weekly street sweeping, where streets are swept according to the four sweeping zones between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.; and

Tri-weekly street sweeping, where streets are swept according to the four sweeping zones between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The best advice is to check the signs posted on the street before parking there.

If you’d like to be reminded about when the streets in your neighborhood will be swept, the city will send an email to remind you.

To sign up for the email reminder service and to gain access to a printable street sweeping schedule, you can do that on the city’s website.
