Although one COVID-19 case has been reported this week at the Mather Place senior living development in Wilmette, no new cases have been reported at Evanston’s senior living communities in the past 10 days.

Mather Place reported March 29 that a resident there tested positive for the coronavirus disease and was recovering at Evanston Hospital.

Three Crowns Park had three residents fall ill from the disease, starting on March 15, and one of those residents died on March 22, becoming the first, and so far only reported death among Evanston residents from the disease. Three Crowns has not reported any additional COVID-19 cases since then.

The other facilities in Evanston, including Presbyterian Homes, The Mather and The Merion, report no cases, but say they’re taking precautions to protect residents — including shutting down group social activities and delivering meals to residents in their apartments.
