As part of the CTA Station Renewal Program, the Noyes Street stop on the Purple Line will be closed for repair work this weekend.

The closure will begin at 10 p.m. on Friday and continue until 4 a.m. Monday.

CTA crews will also perform night work for the next six weeks including lead paint abatement, power washing, painting, repairs and lighting enhancements.

During the weekend station closure, residents can use the adjacent stations at Central and Foster Streets. The #201 Central/Ridge bus is also available for alternate service on Sheridan Road just over a quarter-mile east of the Noyes station.

The CTA Renewal Program started about a year ago and is designed to provide a facelift to 100 CTA rail stations. Officials say the project combines workers from different trades into a “Renew Crew” that works to increase the efficiency of repair work and create cleaner, brighter and more appealing stations to improve the customer travel experience.
