Northwestern University’s athletic department and the City of Evanston have scheduled a community meeting to organize a promotional event for city residents at an NU football game this fall.

The meeting, for representatives of churches, community, civic and business organizations, area schools and other interested residents, will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, in Room 2200 of the Civic Center.

The game date chosen for the promotion is Sept. 25, when the Wildcats will play the Central Michigan University Chippewas at Ryan Field.

City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz says ideas to be discussed include special ticket offers for Evanston residents, a city-wide pep rally the night before the game, pre-game events featuring Evanston organizations and salutes during the game to people who make Evanston a special place.
