Northwestern University officials say the school will remain open today, despite a decision by University of Chicago officials to close its Hyde Park campus because of an online threat of gun violence.

In a news release, the NU officials said there have been no reports of any threat against NU, and that, based on information from local police and the FBI, there’s no reason to believe there’s an increased danger to the NU community.

But university police are planning an enhanced police and security presence on NU’s Chicago and Evanston campuses today.
