A Northwestern University student was found dead Sunday in Pancoe Hall, a biomedical research building on the Evanston campus.

The Daily Northwestern reports that police believe the death of 20-year-old Dmitri Teplov, a sophomore engineering major from New York City, was a suicide. An autopsy was scheduled for today.

“On behalf of the University, I extend our condolences to Dmitri’s family and friends,” said Patricia Telles-Irvin, vice president for student affairs, in a university-wide email. “We always feel deeply the loss of a member of our Northwestern community.”

It’s the third apparent suicide death of an NU student this year.
