A Northwestern University student reportedly was found dead in his Evanston apartment Friday.

The Daily Northwestern, quoting an e-mail message from the school’s deal of students, identified the dead student as James Obremski, 22, an arts and sciences sophomore from Danvers, Mass.

The Daily Northwestern, quoting an e-mail message from the school’s deal of students, identified the dead student as James Obremski, 22, an arts and sciences sophomore from Danvers, Mass.

A call this morning to Evanston Police about the incident was not immediately returned.

The cause of death reportedly has not yet been determined, but in the e-mail message Dean of Students Burgwell Howard says, “There is no indication of any danger or threat to other members of the Northwestern community” from the incident.

Update 1:50 p.m. 8/2/10: Evanston police say it’s now been confirmed that the student’s death was a suicide.
