A Northwestern University grad student was robbed on Noyes Street near Sherman Avenue in Evanston this afternoon.
NU Police say the student was walking eastbound on Noyes about 2:50 p.m. when two men walked up and asked him for his money.
When the victim said he didn’t have any, the men demanded he show them his wallet, and took a credit card they found inside.
Police say the student wasn’t hurt, and the robbers didn’t claim to be armed.
The victim described both of the robbers as thin black males about 25 years old. One, about 6-feet-tall, was wearing a dark green fleece jacket, light green pants and a winter hat. The other wore a dark-colored fleece top with blue jeans and a red winter cap.
Evanston police are now investigating the incident. Persons who may have information that could assist in the investigation are asked to call the police at 847-866-5000.
