NU student robbed

Northwestern University police say a male NU student was robbed in the 600 block of Noyes Street about 2:10 this morning.

Police say the student was riding his bicycle west on Noyes when a car pulled up near him and two men jumped out, pushed him off the bike and took his backpack, containing his laptop computer, cell phone and cash.

The offenders were described as black males in their 20s, wearing dark clothing.

The police recommend that students use the school’s shuttle bus service, which provides transportation to areas both on and off campus every night until 3 a.m.

The police urge that suspicious activity immediately to University Police at 847-491-3254 or Evanston police at 847-866-5000.
