Christian Chavet, L.P.N., was recently selected a ‘Hero in Long-Term Care’ by the Illinois Health Care Association and the Illinois Council on Long Term Care.

Chavet, a nurse at the Alden Estates of Evanston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at 2520 Gross Point Road, was selected for positively impacting the facility’s quality of life and his commitment to serving the needs of residents and their families.

He received a certificate of recognition as part of National Nursing Home Week.

“Christian Chavet isn’t just a nurse at Alden Estates of Evanston, he is an example for all health care employees,” says Colleen Rodney, administrator, Alden Estates of Evanston.

“He comes to work every day with such a pleasant demeanor about him that residents request him as their nurse,” she added.

“He could have a million things to do, but a resident would never know it. He makes each resident feel as though they are the only one who matters.”

Bill Smith is the editor and publisher of Evanston Now.
