Evanston police say a 45-year-old Naperville man was shot to death and a 27-year-old Chicago man was stabbed in an incident about 3:30 Sunday afternoon in the 2000 block of Wesley Avenue.
Cmdr. Ryan Glew says it appears the two crimes were related and were not random acts.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital by Fire Department ambulances where the gunshot victim died. The stabbing victim is listed in stable condition.
No suspects are in custody and the Evanston Police Detective Bureau and North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
