The driver of a car that went out of control on Sheridan Road shortly before 11:30 this morning has been transported to Evanston Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The car, which police say apparently struck a guardrail while traveling northbound on Sheridan where it curves just before Sheridan Place, ended up embedded in the tall hedge surrounding a home on the opposite side of the road.

Sheridan was closed to traffic in both directions for about a half hour while crews worked to remove the car.
