Update 4:25 p.m.: Evanston police say one person is in custody and another is in stable condition at Evanston Hospital after a hit-and-run incident on Dodge Avenue between Lake and Church streets about 11:45 this morning.

Cmdr. Brian Henry says police believe that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. He says police are continuing the investigation and that the parties involved are offering differing accounts of what happened.

A second person who was struck by the car suffered only minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

Henry says that although the incident occurred near Evanston Township High School, it did not involve anyone associated with the school.
