Residents of Evanston’s tallest condo tower — and the businesses at its base — will be without water service in the early morning hours of Wednesday.

That’s when service will be turned off to switch the connection to a new water main recently installed as part of this summer’s repaving project on Davis Street.

The shutoff is expected to last from midnight until 5 a.m.

City officials say that business owners and the condo board at Sherman Plaza requested the overnight shutoff to reduce the impact on residents and businesses and that all those affected have been notified of the work, which will be done by Bolder Contractors of Deerfield.
