Pace is seeking public comment on several proposed bus route changes in the north suburbs — one of which affects riders in Evanston.

Under that change riders leaving the Howard Red Line station would no longer have a direct route to the Old Orchard Shopping Center on the Route 215 bus.

Instead they would board the Route 226 bus at the CTA station and have to transfer to the Route 215 bus at Crawford Avenue and Howard Street in Skokie.

Pace has scheduled six public hearings on the proposed changes over the next few weeks. The only one in Evanston will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Levy Center, 300 Dodge Ave.

Pace says the changes will lead to “streamlined routes, increased frequency on arterial roads, reduced waiting times, better connections to CTA L trains and an overall improvement to the public transportaion network.”

Written comments on the proposed changes may be submitted to Pace, External Relations, 550 West Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
