Thieves grabbed packages on Howard Street, Pitner Avenue, and Dempster Street. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

THEFT

2000 Howard

Packages were stolen from the vestibule at a building in the 2000 block of Howard Street between 12:30 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. yesterday.

1200 Pitner

A package was stolen from the front porch of a residence in the 1200 block of Pitner Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

2300 Dempster

Packages were stolen off the porch of a home in the 2300 block of Dempster Street at about 6 p.m. yesterday.

1500 Maple

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2015 Nissan in the 1500 block of Maple Avenue shortly after midnight yesterday.

BATTERY

1454 Elmwood

Rachid Kante, 34, of 132 Custer Ave., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday and charged with domestic battery.

DRUGS

746 Wesley

Nicole D. Profit, 39, of 7851 Niles Center Road, Skokie, was arrested at 746 Wesley Ave. at 12:26 a.m. yesterday and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mansfield Lavon Wallace, 50, of 231 Richmond Ave., was arrested at 746 Wesley Ave. at 2:38 a.m. yesterday and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
