Someone tore open packages delivered to an apartment common area in the 800 block of Noyes Street. The damage was discovered at 1:18 p.m. yesterday.

Burglary

800 Case

Burglars used brute force to open the rear door of an apartment in the 800 block of Case Street between 7:45 a.m. and 4:08 p.m. yesterday. Missing items included a tablet computer, stereo equipment, and a gaming system.

Theft

800 Forest

Someone removed lugnuts from the driver side wheels of a 2018 Honda in the 800 block of Forest Avenue between 10 a.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday.

1900 Sherman

Cash was taken from an apartment in the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue between Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

1700 Orrington

A cell phone was stolen from the Evanston Public Library between 11 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

800 Ridge

Marvin P. Rhone, 29, of 2412 N. Western Ave., Park Ridge, was arrested at 800 Ridge Ave. at 8:20 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Jan. 30 at 1:30 p.m.
