Seventy parents of ETHS alumni gathered recently for a party at the home of new “empty nesting” parents Josh and Julie Chernoff to raise funds for the Evanston Township High School Educational Foundation.

Hosted by the ETHS Parent Emeritus Group, which was formed two years ago by ETHS parents Bridget Schroeder and Jane Head, the event raised $8,000 to support the Foundation’s initiative to integrate technology into the classroom through a school-wide wireless network.

Dinner was provided by The Noodle in Wilmette, desserts were provided by Liz Brieva, owner of Lucky 7 Baked Goodness, and live musical entertainment was provided by an ETHS student jazz ensemble.

The professional quality jazz trio included Quinn Sengupta on piano, Kevin Fuller on bass, and Matt Dunietz on drums.

Special guest David Chan, of ETHS’s IT department, spoke  about the progress being made in making ETHS wireless, and he described the importance of fully funding the wireless initiative so each department has access to carts and smart board technology.

Over the past three years, the Parent Emeritus Group has raised over $29,000 for the ETHS Educational Foundation.
