Two women filed reports to police of damage to their cars following a brief argument in the parking lot of the Jewel-Osco grocery store on Chicago Avenue. This among the stories in today’s daily crime report from Evanston police.
According to Cmdr. Ryan Glew, one of the women was driving a 2018 Porche and the other a 2015 Dodge Caravan. The driver of the Dodge complained that the Porche came into the parking lot at about 9:52 a.m. yesterday and came extremely close to the grocery cart she was pushing.
Words were exchanged, he said, and the driver of the Porche told police her car was damaged intentionally as a result. Later, the driver of the Dodge filed a similar report, Glew said.
The driver of a 2018 Porche said her car sustained damage from the driver of a Dodge Caravan at about 9:52 a.m. yesterday in the parking lot of the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue.
Someone shattered the driver’s side window of a 2015 Acura in the 1800 block of Lemar Avenue at 4:49 p.m. yesterday.
Blair M. Devine, 33, of 1400 W. Greenleaf Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 807 Church St. at 8:37 p.m. yesterday and was charged with domestic battery. She is due in court on June 12 at 9:30 a.m.
Coyt Riddle, 60, of 1713 Leland Ave., was arrested at that address at 11:34 p.m. Tuesday and charged with battery. He is due in court on June 18 at 9 a.m.
Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue at 3:39 p.m. yesterday.
A package containing clothing that was delivered to an apartment common area in the 800 block of Seward Street was stolen between 1 p.m. and 5:05 p.m. yesterday.
Alcoholic products were taken from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue around 9:05 p.m. yesterday.
Vera Jackmuth, 49, of 1715 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 1640 Chicago Ave. at 5:44 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft. She is due in court on Aug. 12 at 9 a.m.
Cash was taken while unattended at a hair care facility in the 900 block of Noyes Street at about 10:48 a.m. yesterday.
Okasili Odaiche, 43, of 4901 Morse Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1616 Sherman Ave. at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday and charged with retail theft. A court date has been set for June 25 at 9 a.m.
5600 Old Orchard
Christopher L. Scott, 34, of 8110 S. Kingston Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 5600 Old Orchard Road at 12:24 p.m. yesterday and charged with ID theft.
An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
