Evanston police say a man upset about receiving a parking ticket called police repeatedly on Wednesday threatening to blow up the Civic Center and the police station.

Cmdr. Jay Parrott says the calls were made on a cell phone that was traced to Vincente L. Alford, 33, of 7528 N. Claremont Ave. in Chicago.

Alford was charged with two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct by making threats by telephone. He’s scheduled to appear in Skokie district court at 1:30 p.m. on May 29.
