Evanston Parks, Recreation and Community Services Assistant Director Christina Ferraro has been named executive director of the Prospect Heights Park District.

Ferraro has worked for the City of Evanston for 15 years as manager of senior programs and most recently as assistant director responsible for the department’s community services programs.

Her last day in Evanston will be Dec. 31.

City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz says that among Ferraro’s many accomplishments with the city was her key role in the relocation and construction of the Levy Center “as well as the creation of our outstanding senior services program we enjoy today.” She led planning efforts with the Age Friendly Evanston Task Force.

“Christina’s dedication to the residents of Evanston is unmatched. Her leadership, good humor and resident focus will be greatly missed,” Bobkiewicz added.
