Patching Forest

Evanston public works crews had Forest Avenue between Lake and Davis Streets blocked off this afternoon as they did some long-awaited major patching of the roadway surface.

Forest at that point handles Sheridan Road traffic along the lakefront.

The city is scheduled to take over control of Sheridan from the state next year, after a full repaving of the roadway. But city officials have concluded that conditions on the street have gotten so bad that some repairs just can’t wait until then.
