Chef Deb Evans of the Peckish Pig restaurant will demonstrate her skills with local ingredients at Evanston’s downtown Farmers Market tomorrow.

She will be the first in a series of local chefs that will be doing cooking demonstrations at the tent of the Friends of Evanston Farmers Markets during market days.

Evans will be cooking a Roasted Beets, Burrata Cheese, Bourbon soaked Blueberries, and Honey Basil Salad. Samples will be distributed to visitors to the tent between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Not only can you eat a sample, but copies of the recipe will be available for those who want to try it out at home.

Frequently during the season, other local chefs will appear at the Friends tent, located in the southwest corner of the market, which is held each week in the parking lot behind the Hilton Garden Inn and adjacent to the city’s Maple Avenue parking garage.
