Trains on the Metra line through Evanston are being delayed this afternoon after a pedestrian was struck by a train near the Davis Street station.

Evanston Fire Division Chief Kimberly Kull says the victim, a middle-aged man, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Metra says the train on the Union Pacific North line that hit the pedestrian was on a “non-revenue” run. The incident reportedly happened sometime around 2:30 p.m.
