Evanston police say two pedestrians were struck by a hit-and-run driver shortly after 9 o’clock this morning at the intersection of Howard Street and Custer Avenue on the Chicago border

Witnesses say the eastbound car then turned north into Evanston at Chicago Avenue.

The accident was captured by a police video camera at the intersection, and police are now looking for a late model Chevrolet sedan with damage to its windshield.

One of the pedestrians has been transported by a Chicago EMS ambulance to St. Francis Hospital. The other pedestrian declined medical treatment.

Update 9:50 a.m.: Police say they’ve located an unoccupied vehicle that appears to match the description of the hit-and-run car in the 600 block of Mulford Avenue.
