Evanston-based PEER Services has named Jennifer Koehler as its new executive director.

Koehler, an attorney, is the former vice president for external affairs at the Loyola University Health System and heads her own strategic consulting firm.

She previously worked for the State of Illinois as director of the state’s health marketplace and for Cook County as director of government and labor relations for the county’s juvenile temporary detention center.

Koehler serves on the board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Chicago and the Triton Community College Foundation board.

PEER Services, headquartered at 906 Davis St., provides community-based substance use prevention, education, early intervention and outpatient treatment services for adolescents and adults in northern Cook County.
