Perspective Gallery announces first juried exhibition

Evanston’s Perspective Gallery is inviting artists to submit photographs for the gallery’s first juried exhibition, Lens 2011, to be held in March at the gallery, located at 1310-1/2B Chicago Ave., just north of Dempster Street.

Evanston’s Perspective Gallery is inviting artists to submit photographs for the gallery’s first juried exhibition, Lens 2011, to be held in March at the gallery, located at 1310-1/2B Chicago Ave., just north of Dempster Street.

The not-for-profit cooperative, whose purpose is to promote photography as fine art, has selected Natasha Egan, associate director and curator of the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College, to be the juror. She has organized numerous international exhibitions and contributed essays to many publications, according to the gallery.

Deadline for entries is Jan. 9, and results will be announced on Jan. 20. The show runs from March 3 to March 27.

One photographer will be awarded a featured exhibition at the gallery as well as a $200 stipend. The first runner-up will receive $150 and the second runner-up $100. In addition, selected artwork will be available for sale during the exhibition.
