Evanston/Skokie School District 65 officials say a service problem with Comcast has knocked out phone and internet service to the district’s schools this afternoon.

Phones are working, though, at the district’s administration center.

District Communications Director Pat Markham says the school system is placing automated phone calls to parents to alert them to the outage and has let police and fire officials know about the problem.

In case of emergency, families are asked to call 847 859-8000 x2 to request assistance in getting a message to the school principal.
