2400 Howard

A pickpocket took items from a purse at the Jewel Food Store in the 2400 block of Howard Street around 1:30 p.m. Friday.

1600 Chicago

Merchandise was taken from the shelves at Whole Foods in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue around 5 p.m. Saturday.

900 Ashland

A bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 900 block of Ashland Avenue was stolen between 8:55 a.m. and 3:35 p.m. Friday.

Maple at Church

A bicycle locked to a bike rack was stolen near Maple Avenue and Church Street between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

1800 Asbury

A wallet was stolen from an apartment in the 1800 block of Asbury Avenue between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday.

2748 Green Bay

Anthony Francis Kasenga, 70, of 644 Hyacinth Place, Highland Park, was arrested at 2748 Green Bay Road at 5:36 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Oct. 22 at 10:30 a.m.

Assault

1341 McDaniel

Lashondra N. Nicholson, 49, of 1341 McDaniel Ave., was arrested at that address at 8:48 a.m. yesterday and charged with aggravated assault. She is due in court on Sept. 19 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

1000 Davis

Pry marks in the 1000 block of Davis Street was evidence that someone had attempted to enter a restaurant there between 3 a.m. Thursday and 10:17 a.m. Friday. Nothing was reported taken.

2200 Wesley

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2016 Acura in the 2200 block of Wesley Avenue around 2:10 p.m. Friday.

1200 Grant

Nothing was reported taken in an unsuccessful attempt to enter a home in the 1200 block of Grant Street around 1:55 p.m. Friday.

1200 Emerson

A burglar forced open the door to an apartment storage area in the 1200 block of Emerson Street between 8 a.m. on Sept. 1 and 12:12 p.m. Saturday and stole a bicycle.

Graffiti

700 Hinman

Graffiti was discovered on government property in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue at 11:40 a.m. Friday.

600 Hinman

Graffiti was discovered on government property in the 600 block of Hinman Avenue at 10:43 a.m. Saturday.

Mulford at Callan

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk at Mulford Street and Callan Avenue at 12:13 p.m. yesterday.

Other

1600 Emerson

Police received a report of a man with a gun in the 1600 block of Emerson Street around 6:07 p.m. Saturday. They checked the area but found no man with a gun.

Traffic

2650 Ridge

Richard J. Byrne, 62, of 808 Forest Ave., was arrested at 2650 Ridge Ave. at 9:20 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Oct. 10 at 9 a.m.

800 Ridge

Porscha C. Hamilton, 26, of 1512 Pitner Ave., was arrested at 800 Ridge Ave. at 5:18 p.m. on Aug. 29 and charged with a traffic violation.

600 Grove

Jon R. Moskow, 48, of 1500 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 600 Grove St. at 10:37 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Oct. 29 at 10:30 a.m.

2400 Main

Christian D. A. Olaiya, 28, of 1366 W. Jarvis Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2400 Main St. at 5:36 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 27 at 10:30 a.m.

Main at Dodge

Mario A. Saldana-Reyes, 37, of 2451 W. Howard St., was arrested at Main Street  and Dodge Avenue at 8:01 p.m. on Aug. 31. and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 20 at 10:30 a.m.

1014 Main

Sonia H. Smith, 38, of 2033 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1014 Main St. at 4:50 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m.

2400 Asbury

Solomon Lawrence Vault, 21,  of 2002 Pratt Court, was arrested at 2400 Asbury Ave. at 2:44 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 17 at 1:30 p.m.

910 Greenleaf

Jocelyn Monserrat Velaquez, 21, of 1907 W. Summerdale Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 910 Greenleaf St. at 10:03 a.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Oct. 17 at 1:30 p.m.
