The Evanston Plan Commission heard four more hours of testimony on two planned development applications Wednesday night.

The commission heard from opponents to the Optima Promenade project at 1515 Chicago Ave. who said it would cut off light to neighboring residential buildings.

It also heard from opponents to the Smithfield Properties plan to redevelop the former campus of Kendall College with a mix of single family homes and townhouses who want the propery rezoned R1 — which would bar its use for townhouses.

The commission continued both hearings until May 10 when it will hear more testimony from the opponents.
