With snow falling again in Evanston and up to 8 inches expected before the storm ends Sunday, city officials are asking residents to voluntarily follow snow route and snow emergency parking restrictions.

That means:

  • Avoid parking on posted snow routes from 11 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. Sunday morning and during the same overnight hours from Sunday night into Monday.
  • Follow Snow Emergency even/odd restrictions Sunday and Monday. Avoid parking on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses on Sunday, Jan. 31, and Mon., Feb. 1, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (You’ll note that inconveniently Sunday and Monday are both odd dates. But city officials say please just follow the posted street signage.)

If you don’t have a garage for your car to get it off the street, the city is offering free parking in its downtown garages from now through 11:59 p.m. Wednesday night.
